Bulls fans react cheekily to Steve Kerr’s comment on 1995-96 season

As the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls enter the franchise's Ring of Honor, Steve Kerr was among the people present for the ceremony. He comments regarding comparing that team left fans quick to chime in with their thoughts.

During an interview, Kerr was asked his thoughts on that season where the Bulls won 72 games. The Warriors coached started off by thanking him for not asking him to compare that year to the Golden State team that won 73 games. Steve Kerr is part of the two most historic teams in NBA history

Looking through his entire career, few people have had as much success as Steve Kerr in the NBA. During his time in the league, he's won championships as a player and coach. His greatest accomplishment is being part of two of the greatest teams in league history.

Only two teams can say they've won at least 72 games in a season, and Steve Kerr was part of both of them. The sharpshooting guard played in all 82 games in 1996 when the Chicago Bulls posted a 72-10 record in the regular season. They also went on to win the championship that year as part of their second three-peat in the 90's. Kerr finished that year with averages of 8.2 points and 1.8 assists while shooting 51% from three.

Many thought that record would never be broken, but history was made in 2016. Now as a coach, Kerr helped lead Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors to a 73-9 record. However, this group did not finish the job like Michael Jordan's Bulls. The Warriors made it to the finals that year, but ended up losing to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in seven games.

Some like to discredit this group as the greatest team ever because they didn't win a championship. Still, they sit atop the history books with 73 wins.

After years of senseless debating, Kerr no longer wants to compare these two elite teams. Instead, he'd rather look back and think about how he got to be part of not one but two pieces of history that may never be touched again.
