Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton, the latest additions to the LA Lakers, have arrived in California after being traded from the Brooklyn Nets. The Lakers acquired the duo in exchange for D’Angelo Russell, Maxwell Lewis and three second-round picks.

In a video shared by the Lakers on X (formerly Twitter), the two new players were seen disembarking from a plane and expressing their excitement about joining the team.

Dorian Finney-Smith exclaimed:

“Just touched down in LA!”

Milton chimed in:

“Lake Show, let’s go!”

Finney-Smith's addition is a significant boost for the Lakers, who are in need of wing shooting. The forward is shooting a career-best 44% from beyond the arc while averaging 10.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists.

Milton is averaging 7.4 ppg and 2.4 apg.

With the trade, Russell returns to Brooklyn for his second stint with the Nets after playing two seasons in Brooklyn from 2017-2019.

The 28-year-old guard is averaging 12.4 ppg and 4.7 apg this season, shooting 36.8% from deep.

JJ Redick once shared his admiration for Dorian Finney-Smith's playing style

Dorian Finney-Smith has built a reputation as a 3-and-D wing, and his addition to the Lakers provides a significant upgrade on both ends of the floor, particularly in his position.

After Finney-Smith was traded to the Lakers, Jason Gallagher, director of JJ Redick and LeBron James' "Mind the Game" podcast, posted a clip where the new Lakers coach lavished praise on the forward.

"The one guy I've just got to shout out because I love watching him play, and I've played against him now for a few years, and he does so many things that just don't show up in a box score and that's Dorian Finney-Smith," Redick said in an old episode of "The Old Man & the Three" podcast.
"(He) is just, he's just an awesome player. And he's a player that can fit on any team in the NBA and I think he's incredibly valuable. Great defender, hustles, makes all the plays."

Finney-Smith now joins the Lakers as his third team, following stints with the Dallas Mavericks and Brooklyn Nets, the latter after being traded when the Mavericks acquired Kyrie Irving.
