The LA Lakers acquired Dorian Finney-Smith from the Brooklyn Nets as part of the D'Angelo Russell trade in late December. Finney-Smith hasn't made the impact the Lakers expected him to have in his first month with the team. He recently went through something personal, and Tuesday's game was his second one back.
But how did DFS perform against the Washington Wizards? The Florida product finished the game with 16 points and two rebounds, hitting four 3-point shots in 22 minutes. It was his best game in a Lakers uniform so far, helping the team earn the 111-88 win.
Anthony Davis led the way for the Lakers with 29 points, 16 rebounds, five assists and four blocks, while LeBron James had another triple-double of 21 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists. The Lakers improved to 23-18 for the season and are just half a game behind the LA Clippers in the West standings.

How did Dorian Finney-Smith perform against the Washington Wizards?
Dorian Finney-Smith was not part of the LA Lakers' starting lineup against the Washington Wizards. Finney-Smith entered the contest at the 5:14 mark of the first quarter to give LeBron James a breather. He immediately made his presence known by hitting two 3-point shots to swing the momentum in favor of the Lakers.
In the second quarter, Finney-Smith went scoreless in the first four minutes before getting taken out. He sat on the bench until there were three minutes left, hitting a 3-point shot at the 1:01 point to give the Lakers a comfortable 57-44 advantage.
The former Dallas Mavericks swingman added just two points in four minutes in the third quarter. The game appeared to be over at that point, though the Wizards are still trying to show some life.
Finney-Smith scored five points in the first three minutes of the final period as the Lakers never let on. The Wizards didn't stand a chance as the purple and gold squad played great defense, limiting their opponents to just 11 points in the final 12 minutes.
Dorian Finney-Smith welcomed his son with fiancée JazMyne Branch
Some fans were worried about Dorian Finney-Smith when he missed two games from Jan. 15 to 17 due to personal reasons. The LA wildfire was at its peak at that time, and some thought that he was affected by the natural disaster.
However, it seems like he was given time off after his fifth child was born. Finney-Smith shared an image of his newborn son, calling him "Baby cinco." He's engaged to JazMyne Branch, and the couple's wedding is scheduled for Aug. 23, 2025 in Dallas, Texas.
