LeBron James of the LA Lakers had to deal with controversy following the claims of DJ Akademiks in one of his livestreams. The internet personality accused James of infidelity with his wife, Savannah, as rapper Drake allegedly assisted him in secret trips to Canada.
However, in a recent livestream call with Kai Cenat on Friday, the DJ slyly admitted to making up the cheating allegations.
“I f**k with Bron," DJ Akademiks said. "I kinda feel bad. I went back online and was like, ‘Yo, I’m seeing so many people mad at me. If y’all wanna go with everything I said was cap, I’ll go with that'. But I feel like Drake was half-telling on him.”
“We love LeBron," he added. "That’s one of our national icons so we gotta hold down his legacy. Everything I said was cap, this sh*t is not real.”

The claims from Akademiks came after he talked about Drake's involvement in James' alleged cheating. The 33-year-old first sparked rumors about the Lakers star's infidelity on Jan. 11.
"Yo LeBron," Akademiks said. "You and Drake used to go on two-mans ok? You've been cheating on your God d**ned wife. Drake used to facilitate the ho*s and basically, essentially you can't dance to a song about him being a pedophile. He used to supply you with the bitches, I'm sorry my n***a."
So far, James has not responded to the allegations made by Akademiks. The NBA star has kept his focus on playing basketball as the Lakers try to improve their 21-17 record.
Amid silent beef with LeBron James, Drake was seen interacting with Steph Curry
On Monday, the Golden State Warriors played against the Toronto Raptors at the Scotiabank Arena. As usual, Drake attended the game and was seen sitting courtside, near the players. In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), Steph Curry dapped the rapper and even went in to embrace him. The two had a moment and talked for a while.
Drake has always had a good relationship with a few NBA stars. However, things between him and LeBron James have seemingly changed. Last year, James attended and was seen dancing at Kendrick Lamar's concert, where the hit diss track "Not Like Us" was played.
For background, there has been a long-running feud between the two rappers, which peaked in 2024. While Drake's diss tune was playing, James was spotted having a good time among the audience. Many people think that the 40-year-old Lakers superstar's friendship with the Canadian artist has been damaged because he appears to have chosen the California rapper in the feud.
