Thanasis Antetokounmpo, the brother of Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, praised his brother's improvement on the court. During Sunday's episode of the "Thanalysis Show," Thanasis talked about Giannis' growth over the years.
Thanasis talked about the growth when his co-host mentioned that Giannis has become one of the best midrange scorers in the league percentage-wise. The Greek Freak's brother was asked how a team could gameplan for Giannis if he's consistently hitting midrange jumpers.
Thanasis waved off the question and instead opted to talk about his brother's growth while comparing him to other NBA stars.
"There's just some people who play through their ceiling every time," Thanasis said (Timestamp: 10:09). "It happens with LeBron (James) where people are like, 'Hey, you're not gonna be this athletic at 40 years old dunking on everybody.'"

Thanasis continued by naming other superstar players who were doubted for lacking a certain attribute, yet broke through their ceiling: Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic's lack of athleticism and Steph Curry for being undersized. Afterward, he broke down how Giannis Antetokounmpo has improved his game (Timestamp: 10:44):
"At first it was, ''This guy is scrawny, he can't play in the NBA. (He) bulks up, bulldozes everybody. Then the metrics was like, 'He won't pass.' (He's a) great passer, right on the money. Now it's like, 'OK, he can't make free throws.' Wins a Finals game shooting 17-for-17 free throws."
Thanasis then praised Giannis for his work ethic and for proving people wrong who say he is incapable of something.
Giannis Antetokounmpo's improvement was once recognized by an award. In 2017, he was voted the league's Most Improved Player by a wide margin. He earned 80 first-place votes while the runner-up, Nikola Jokic, only got 18.
Since then, Giannis has continued to grow, winning MVP in back-to-back seasons (2019 and 2020). He also won the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2020 to go along with his MVP.
In 2021, he helped lead the Bucks to a championship and was also named the Finals MVP.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is making well over half of his 2-pointers
Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has always been a prolific scorer. In 2022-23, he averaged 31.1 points per game, and last season, he averaged 30.4. This year, he's on pace to lead the league in scoring with 32.5 ppg through 20 games.
Most of Giannis' scoring has always come from inside the arc, averaging 13.4 2-pointers throughout his career. Meanwhile, he's only averaged 2.3 attempts from behind the 3-point line. Among his attempts, he's always been most lethal in the paint.
However, he seems to have unlocked a new dimension to his offense that makes him an even deadlier inside-the-arc scorer. This season, he has made 46.5% of his midrange jumpers. His efficiency in this regard has not taken away from his ability to score inside, as he's hitting 73.9% of his attempts in the restricted area.
Overall, Giannis Antetokounmpo has made 62.5% of the 2-pointers he's attempted this season.
