Last year, Jalen Green made headlines with his off-court relationship with influencer Draya Michele. Since they got together, many have spoken out about them dating. Recently, a former NFL star compared the situation to that of another young athlete on the rise.

The biggest issue people have with Green and Michele dating is the age gap. She is getting ready to celebrate her 40th birthday, while the Rockets guard is only 22.

During his latest episode in "4th & 1," Cam Netwon touched on Jalen Green's dating life. He compared the former No. 2 pick being with Michele to the situation NFL prospect Travis Hunter finds himself in.

Hunter's fiancé Leanna Lenee is older than him, but their age gap is not as drastic. She is 23 years old, while the potential top pick is 21.

Despite all the backlash they've received over the last 12 months, Green and Michele remain together. In May, the couple welcomed a baby into the world. Also, reports indicate that the two plan on getting married at some point in the future.

Prior to Cam Newton's remarks, it had been some time since someone in the media brought up Jalen Green's relationship. One reason why the former MVP touched on it is because of Michele's recent actions.

Along with having a child with the Houston Rockets guard, Michele also has a son from a previous relationship. He is 22 years old, like Green. Last week, Michele and her son were courtside to catch the Rockets in action up close. As expected, this garnered a lot of attention on social media.

Newton ended up talking about this ordeal on his podcast. Seeing that her son is the same age as Jalen Green, he feels it's an awkward wrinkle in their relationship.

"I'm a fan of Draya, but we got to hold people accountable," Newton said. "What does your son think?"

"If you're happy, cool. But understand the look and the feel."

Green is in the midst of his fourth season with the Rockets. On the season, the young guard is averaging 20.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists. With Houston sitting in second place in the Western Conference, Green has a chance to make his postseason debut in the NBA this year.
