Draymond Green hints his next team if he ever exit Warriors: "I hope I don't go anywhere"

When looking at the success of the Warriors' dynasty, a huge part can be credited to Draymond Green. He might not have been the premier shotmaker like Stephen Curry, but his defensive and playmaking prowess was unmatched. If he were to be traded to a nonwinning organization, Green would prefer to be moved to a franchise like the Detroit Pistons in his home state of Michigan.

The 2016-17 Defensive Player of the Year was drafted 35th in 2012 by Golden State. He has played 12 seasons with the franchise as he established himself as an integral culture piece. His hard-nosed brand of basketball and strong demeanor on the court might not have been for everyone, but he thrived in the role that he played, which paid dividends to team success.

On the "Club 520 Podcast," Green highlighted his desire to not be traded by the Warriors. However, he acknowledged the possibility of it and named his hometown team as a possible destination if it came down to it.

"I pray to God if (the Warriors) ever feel the need to get rid of me, at least send me somewhere," Green said. "If they're going to send me to any, like, nonwinning organization, then send me to Detroit. It's the crib. ... I'd much rather it'd be Detroit than Charlotte. ... I hope I don't go anywhere."

While Green approved of the idea of being traded to a quality team if his time with the Warriors ever came to an end, he is aware of the possibility of that scenario not seeing the light of day.

In the same interview, Draymond Green shared the conversation he had with the Warriors' front office regarding certain trades. While some athletes would prefer to play alongside a player who would lighten their load on the team, Green discussed his different type of mindset regarding that.

"We was just about to make some trades last week," Green said (Timestamp: 33:50). "And I told them straight up, 'That trade will help me.' It'll help me in my career these last couple of years with (Stephen Curry). But I've always spoken from a place of, 'What's best for this organization?' I won't stop now."

The Warriors have acquired some quality role players to improve the roster's depth compared to last season's rotation options. Green highlighted his similar approach that he doesn't want to alter in any form of way.
