Draymond Green expressed his appreciation for former Golden State Warriors player Jamal Crawford after NBC Sports announced that it had signed the three-time Sixth Man of the Year as its newest lead game analyst. Reports indicate that Crawford will begin his tenure as an analyst for the 2025-26 season.

While Green and Jamal Crawford never had the opportunity to play together as teammates, the Warriors veteran acknowledged Crawford’s new milestone. Green reposted an image uploaded by Crawford on his Instagram Stories with a two-word caption:

Crawford expressed excitement for his new role, sharing how he used to mimic the broadcasters and analysts who would speak during game highlights when he was a kid.

“I grew up reenacting the game highlights that I watched on the network’s classic NBA coverage, so I’m truly honored to be a part of the new broadcast team that will bring the game to a different generation of fans," he said.
"I can’t wait for hoop fans to see what we have in store for the new era of basketball content.”

Draymond Green says Warriors won't mortgage future to maximize Steph Curry's prime years

For nearly a decade, from the early 2010s to the early 2020s, the Golden State Warriors were one of the most elite teams in the NBA. However, with Klay Thompson now playing for the Dallas Mavericks and Draymond Green and Steph Curry slowly entering the twilight years of their careers, the Warriors have seen a decline.

Nevertheless, Curry is still playing well, averaging 22.7 points, 6.1 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. Given this, Green believes it would be a waste for the Warriors to not capitalize on Curry’s prime by bringing in more star players. However, acquiring those stars would likely require trading their young core.

According to Draymond Green, the Warriors have no intention of parting with their young talent. Green and Curry are among the oldest players on the team, and they recognize that the younger players are the Warriors’ future.

Green said the team would not trade the youth for an opportunity at another championship run with veteran stars.

"The beautiful part about being in the space that we're in is, Steve Kerr, Steph Curry and myself all disagree with mortgaging off the future of this organization, saying that we're going for it right now," Green said. "Bad teams do that. Bad organizations do that. We're not neither one.”

The Warriors have struggled this season. While they have traded for Dennis Schroder, they remain outside the top 10 with a 19-20 record.
