When LeBron James finally decides to hang up his shoes and walk away from the NBA, he will go down as one of the best players to ever pick up a basketball. It's not all him, though. James has gone out of his way to thank his family and the support system that has followed him throughout his career across four different stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers(twice), the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers.
In Dave McMenamin's ESPN column on Friday, the story of one of James' biggest supports was told; that of confidant Randy Mims. James' confidant posted about the story on Instagram, expressing his thanks to McMenamin and the people that he has worked with during his career.
"I want to thank @kingjames the G.O.A.T first and foremost for giving me the opportunity to sit in the passenger seat of his incredible and inspiring life and career," he wrote in the caption.
His list of appreciation also included his family, James' agents Maverick Carter and Rich Paul and James' family, specifically his wife Savannah and mother Gloria.

Mims also shouted out businesspeople and former NBA players he has crossed paths with, including Kevin Hart, Kevin Love, Grant Hill, Ty Lue and the three teams that LeBron has played with throughout his career.
"Yessirrr🤞🏾🔥" Jarred Vanderbilt said.
Several NBA stars commented, congratulating Mims.
"Mos 🫡" Dwyane Wade commented.
"Noodles! Congrats Man!" Channing Frye commented.
"Much deserved brotha!" remarked Jared Dudley.
"Well deserved brotha congrats," George Hill said.
Draymond Green posted a story, describing Mims with goat emoji.
Randy Mims and LeBron James' time together goes way back to the beginning
Randy Mims has been with James ever since he was an 18-year-old rookie and has grown into his chief of staff on the business side of things. Mims serves as an assistant to James as well as managing his large portfolio of investments. He does that in addition to providing support to James through the rough patches, including when the NBA star decided to take his talents to Miami.
Mims has opened doors for James in the business world, most notably coming up with the idea for The Shop, an Emmy-winning talk show.
