Paul Pierce got jokes for the Los Angeles Lakers' officials amid their search for a new head coach. The 2008 NBA champion is one of the best players in Boston Celtics history, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't join their archrivals as a coach for the right price.
Talking with former Celtics teammate Kevin Garnett on KG Certified, Pierce said what it would take for him to join the Purple and Gold as an assistant coach for Sam Cassell.
"What time is practice?" Pierce asked when Garnett wondered if he'd get $20 million to coach the Lakers. "What time is the coaches' meeting?"
"Hey, everybody got a price," Pierce added.

Seeing Paul Pierce coaching the Los Angeles Lakers would be a big shock for the NBA and probably a big reason to revoke his Celtics card for life. After playing 15 years in Boston, winning a championship, and bringing the team to the top of the league for the first time since 1986, Pierce became a big icon in Boston.
Sam Cassell was part of that team, too, but his connection with the Celtics isn't as special as Pierce's. He's a head coach, and it would be more natural to see him join the Lakers after all the battles they had during his career.
Pierce hasn't shown a desire to become a coach, but again, for the right price, he could get a new passion for the game.
Paul Pierce claims LeBron James has plans with Bronny James outside of Lakers
On Skip Bayless' Undisputed, Paul Pierce said that LeBron James wants to join the Cleveland Cavaliers again with his son Bronny and then retire from the league.
"If they flame out and lose in the play in, I would consider, if I was LeBron, being traded back to Cleveland for Donovan Mitchell. Donovan Mitchell doesn't want to be there. Cause we're not seeing signs of him wanting to re-sign," Pierce said.
"So Bronny gets picked up by Cleveland, and Bron has his farewell tour with his son right there in that last year. I can see a possible scenario like that happening, but it's all on what the Lakers do this year."
Joining the Cavaliers will be a nice way for LeBron to say goodbye to the league. Then again, the 39-year-old is reportedly keen to stay in Los Angeles, and the prospect of joining forces with his son might not change his mind.
