Stephen A. Smith takes offense at Molly Querim's 'Microwave Society' comment regarding Celtics' title wait.

Stephen A. Smith was a little bit exhausted on Tuesday's episode of "First Take" since he covered the NBA Finals the previous night. At one point in the show, Smith was not having any of Molly Qerim's comments about the Boston Celtics' championship win.

In one of the segments of "First Take," Qerim and co-host Andray Carter praised the Celtics for not giving up on Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. They let their two stars grow together and were rewarded by finally winning Boston's 18th championship.

Here's the exchange:

"It’s not a microwave society, folks. Put that stuff in the oven," Qerim said.

"Why are y'all two looking at me? You're young whippersnappers. Please. The time that I've put in eclipses when you were born," Smith replied.
"No one's looking at you. This isn't about you. No one's talking about you. I'm talking to my friends at home," Qerim said back.
"When it comes to 'First Take,' everything's about me," Smith fired back.

Technically, Stephen A. Smith is not wrong since he's the star of "First Take" and possibly one of the most important assets on the ESPN payroll. Smith might receive some flak for talking about Molly Qerim's eating habits, but he's right to remind everyone that it was still his show.

As the dust settled, Smith discussed finally going on vacation and taking a break from his job. However, Qerim reminded him that the NBA Draft is still happening next week, so the eccentric analyst still has a few days before he could enjoy his summer.

"I'm tired as hell. I can't wait to say goodbye to America this summer. I'm tired as hell," Smiths said.
"Summer break's almost here. We just gotta let Bronny get drafted and you can go about your merry way. Let's keep it real," Qerim replied.
"Damn! I forgot," Smith said.

The LA Lakers fanbase is possibly fuming that the Boston Celtics have now won more championships than them. However, Stephen A. Smith believes that the Lakers are still the better franchise overall because of consistency over the years.

Smith pointed out that the Lakers have more NBA Finals appearances than the Celtics. They have also been more relevant since the 1980s with the Showtime Lakers winning five championships in the decade.

Both teams were irrelevant in the 1990s before the Lakers got a three-peat to start the 2000s. The Celtics finally won one again in 2008 then followed it up in 2024. As for the Lakers, they won in 2009, 2010 and 2020. It also helps that they are still relevant even if they didn't make it past the first round this year.
