EX-NBA champ Glen Davis reportedly being sued over $30K loan fraud & false Chris Brown venture claims

Former NBA champion Glen Davis has another hurdle in his post-playing career: A woman is suing him. On Sunday, TMZ Sports reported that a pharmaceutical scientist, Dr. Lyndsey White, filed a lawsuit on Friday in Los Angeles.

This came after she was involved in a barbecue sauce venture with the former Boston Celtics forward. According to White, she and Davis agreed to make a business called "Big Baby Q" sauce in April 2021. Shortly after that, the scientist gave the 6-foot-9 forward a loan of $30,000 to get involved in the marijuana business.

White was then introduced to music icon Chris Brown by Davis. The reason behind it was to create a fragrance for Brown.

However, things fizzled out after Davis was arrested due to his involvement in defrauding the NBA's Players' Health and Benefit Welfare Plan in October 2021. After these events, things changed, according to her claim.

White said that Davis started to get aggressive with her, "causing her to fear for her life." Due to this, her ties with Brown were severed and she claimed that she experienced the loss of "a major client."

She claims that the $30,000 loan she gave the former NBA player for the weed business investment was never paid. White asserts that Davis used the cash to pay the attorney fees during his issue with the league's health and benefit plan.

Furthermore, the barbecue sauce business they formed together pushed through, according to White. She claims that Davis sold the barbecue sauce but she never received anything monetary from the former athlete.

Davis, who is serving a 40-month prison sentence, has not replied to White's allegations.

Why is Glen Davis in prison?

In November 2023, Glen Davis was found guilty of participating in a fraudulent conspiracy and sentenced to 40 months in prison. Federal court filings from the Southern District of New York show that Davis is one of 18 former NBA players who participated in the scheme to defraud the league's health care plan.

On Sunday, a shirtless photo of Davis went viral on X (previously Twitter).

On Oct. 22, Davis began his postponed prison sentence. His documentary was finished, so the start of his punishment was postponed.

"Big Baby," who helped LSU to the 2006 Final Four, was selected by the Seattle Supersonics in 2007 with their 35th pick. He played his first four years with the Celtics, where he was part of the 2008 championship squad. After that, he played for the Orlando Magic for three years. His final two seasons were with the LA Clippers.
