Jeremy Sochan and the San Antonio Spurs will play Texas rivals, the Houston Rockets, in three games within 12 days. Sochan had a few words for the Rockets before facing them in three close games.

During an interview with the press during their practice, the media asked what Sochan felt about going up against Houston in almost three consecutive games.

The Spurs guard responded:

"I don't decide the game schedule so it is what it is."

The media then followed up on his thoughts about their rivalry with the Rockets. Sochan hilariously responded:

"F**k Houston!"

The Dallas Mavericks are the best team in Texas at the moment. San Antonio would at least want to be the second-best behind Dallas.

The San Antonio Spurs went up against the Dallas Mavericks on opening night. Dallas proved why they were the better NBA team in Texas after beating San Antonio 120-109. It was a remarkable debut for Klay Thompson, who is now suiting up for the Mavericks.

Thompson helped Luka Doncic fend off Victor Wembanyama and his Spurs. He put up 22 points, seven rebounds, and three steals. Klay shot efficiently with 60% accuracy from beyond the arc and 53.8% overall.

His solid performance proved doubters why people shouldn't count him out just yet. Thompson's 22 points were a huge assist to Doncic's double-double outing with 28 points and 10 rebounds.

As for the Spurs, it's clear that they still have some maturing to do on the court. Jeremy Sochan and Julian Champagnie led San Antonio in scoring, both having 18 points a piece. Assisting them on offense were Victor Wembanyama and Harrison Barnes, who both had 17 points each.

Barnes, Champagnie, Sochan and Wembanyama were the only Spurs players in double-scoring figures. The fact that none of them managed to hit at least 20 points was an indication of their lack of firepower. While Chris Paul made his official debut suiting up for San Antonio, his playmaking wasn't enough to help his new team keep up with the NBA Finals runner-up.
