Former Philadelphia 76ers forward Furkan Korkmaz has reportedly decided to leave NBA and take his talents to the EuroLeague. According to Forbes' Evan Sidery, Korkmaz has inked a deal with EuroLeague's AS Monaco. The 27-year-old will part ways with the NBA after spending six-and-a-half years in the league.
"Furkan Korkmaz is signing an overseas contract with EuroLeague’s AS Monaco. Korkmaz spent seven years with the Sixers before being traded to the Pacers in February and immediately released," Sidery tweeted on Sunday.
Hoops fans candidly reacted to Korkmaz joining forces with AS Monaco. One of the X users dropped a cheeky reaction on the two-time Turkish Cup winner's decision to leave the NBA.

Another fan pointed at the long list of 76ers players turning out not worthy of playing in the best basketball league in the world.
"Another long time sixers player who turns wasn’t an nba player after all."
One of the fans lashed out at the 76ers decision-makers for sticking with Korkmaz for a lengthy period.
"We kept a dude on the roster who had no business being in the nba for like 7 seasons wtf."
Another fan poked fun at AS Monaco's decision and took shots at Korkmaz.

Korkmaz has the experience of playing in the EuroLeague. The 27-year-old was part of Anadolu Efes Istanbul between 2013 to 2017.
Furkan Korkmaz's NBA career
Furkan Korkmaz was drafted by the 76ers in 2016 with the 26th pick. He made his NBA debut during the 2017-18 season. After spending over six seasons with Philadelphia, the 27-year-old requested for a trade. The franchise obliged and Kormaz was traded to the Indiana Pacers in a deal that brought Buddy Hield to the 76ers earlier in the year.
The Pacers waived Korkmaz immediately and the forward didn't play any further part in the season.
In the 2023-24 season, Korkmaz played 35 games and averaged 2.5 points on 39.5% shooting from the field, including 35.0% from the 3-point range. He also averaged 0.9 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 0.4 steals per game.
For his NBA career, Korkmaz averages 6.8 points per game after playing 328 games on 40.6% shooting from the field, including 35.6% from beyond the arc. He also averages 2.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.5 steals per game.
