Iran, Kazakhstan, Qatar, and India are the four teams in Group E of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualification. Twenty-four teams are competing in the qualification round across six groups of four sides each.

Australia, South Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia are drawn in Group A. Philippines, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Chinese Taipei are in Group B, while Japan, China, Guam, and Mongolia form Group C.

Group D comprises Jordan, FIBA Asia Cup 2025 hosts Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Palestine. Meanwhile, Lebanon, Bahrain, Syria, and the United Arab Emirates are drawn in Group E.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the FIBA Asia Cup 2025, while the third-placed team will advance to the final qualifying tournament. The six third-placed teams will compete for four spots at the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 in Saudi Arabia.

India faced a humiliating 53-69 defeat against lower-ranked Qatar at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. They lost their most recent outing to drop to the last position in the standings with three losses from as many games. They have a point difference of -62, having bagged 156 points and conceded 218.

Meanwhile, Qatar are third in the standings with four points from three matches, including one win and two losses. They have a point difference of nine, having earned 211 points and conceded 202.

Iran were awarded a 20-0 victory over Kazakhstan in their previous match. Kazakhstan decided against traveling to Iran for their away leg match.

Iran have six points from three matches, having won all matches they've played thus far. They have a point difference of 55, having bagged 182 points and conceded 127.

Kazakhstan, on the other hand, have four points from three outings, including two wins and a loss. They have a point difference of -2, courtesy of 136 points scored and 138 conceded.
