India named a 12-member squad for the upcoming South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) Qualifiers in the FIBA U18 Asian Championship 2024. The competition will be held at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo from Jul. 10-13.
The four teams competing in the tournament are hosts Sri Lanka, India, Maldives and Bangladesh. Each team will play three matches in the Qualifiers, followed by the top two nations locking horns in the summit clash of the competition.
India's 12-man squad includes two players each from Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. The squads also include one player each from Punjab, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

Team India will be accompanied by three coaches to Sri Lanka for the FIBA U18 Asian Championship 2024. American basketball coach Scott William Flemming will be in charge of the team, alongside India's Jai Prakash Singh and Kuldip Singh Brar.

Team India will start the competition as favorites and are likely to earn a ticket to represent SABA at the 2024 FIBA U18 Asian Championship, scheduled to be played between Sep. 2 and 9 in Amman, Jordan.
