Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards and LA Lakers star Anthony Davis are set to walk Floyd Mayweather to the ring for his boxing match against John Gotti III on Saturday. Although Mayweather has retired from professional boxing, in recent years he has continued to participate in exhibition boxing matches.
Last summer, Mayweather and Gotti competed in an exhibition boxing match in Florida that ended controversially. In the sixth round, the referee stopped the fight; however, Gotti continued to throw punches at Mayweather, resulting in an all-out brawl between the two camps.
After Gotti served a six-month suspension for starting the brawl, the two fighters will meet inside the ring again at the CDMX Arena in Mexico City. Leading up to the bout, news has surfaced indicating that Floyd Mayweather will be accompanied to the ring by Team USA basketball standouts Davis and Edwards.

Looking at the details of the Mayweather vs. Gotti III rematch where Anthony Edwards and Anthony Davis will make guest appearances
The Mayweather vs. Gotti III rematch has been a long time coming. After the first fight ended with a brawl between the two teams, the hype surrounding a rematch increased.
While Mayweather has been retired from professional boxing and has been participating in exhibition bouts, John Gotti III recently made the transition from MMA to boxing. After putting together a 5-1 amateur record in MMA, Gotti went pro, rattling off five wins under the CES banner from 2017 to 2020.
Then, in October of 2020, Gotti dropped a unanimous decision at CES 61, which prompted a move to boxing. Gotti then won back-to-back bouts as a pro boxer before participating in an exhibition with Mayweather last summer.
Saturday's rematch is expected to bring out a number of stars in addition to Edwards and Davis, given that Mayweather has continued to command the spotlight even as he approaches 50 years old.
The card will feature three pro boxing matches, followed by an exhibition bout between Victor Ortiz and Rodrigo Damian Coria in the co-main event. Ring walks for the main event are then set to take place at 9 pm Pacific (Midnight Eastern), with the card airing exclusively on pay-per view through DAZN for $49.99.
