Former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins was in awe of the 40-year-old LeBron James for his 38-point performance to lead the LA Lakers to a 114-106 home win against the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday.
The former NBA Sixth Man of the Year and Bostin Celtics great took to X/Twitter to laud James' longevity:
"Bron still out here on some grown man shit against these young fellas is beyond me. Dropping a 38 piece with the W when he’s only 5 years from being qualified for his NBA Pension," Perkins posted.

Apart from scoring 38, LeBron James also recorded three rebounds and eight assists in the game. He shot an efficient 60.0% from the field including 70.0% from beyond the arc.
The four-time NBA champion turned 40 last week and is currently the oldest active player in the league. His 38-point performance is the third-best by a 40-year-old in league history following Michael Jordan's 43 and 39-point performances in 2003.
James previously made history during the Lakers matchup against the Cavaliers on Wednesday by becoming the only player to have played an NBA game as a teenager and as a 40-year-old.

In the absence of Anthony Davis, LeBron James stepped up to lead the LA Lakers victory charge against the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday. James' spectacular performance was lauded by many, including fans who took to X to share their reactions over his 38-point explosion:
"We will never see a 40 year old this good," one fan tweeted.
"The year is 2025. This is the greatest basketball player of all time. There is nothing else left to say," another fan said.
"These GOAT activities don’t even surprise me anymore…," a fan tweeted.
"38 on 2 ft ur favorite player could never," one fan added.
"other athletes at 40 move to retirement leagues, and those who stay at the top leagues typically never get playtime or do good in games. This man is not human," a fan said.
"I don’t think most people understand how insane this is," one fan said.
Currently playing in his 22nd NBA season, LeBron James remains a highly efficient player averaging 23.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game. He is also shooting 50.2% from the field including 38.2% from deep in the 30 games he's played so far.
