Former NBA player Jalen Rose’s daughter, Mariah Rose, is the latest to comment about the issues involving Travis Hunter and his girlfriend, Leanna Lenee. Hunter and Lenee have been in the spotlight since the video of Lee seemingly stoic while the Colorado star won the Heisman Trophy went viral.
Many, including former NFL star Dez Bryant, advised Hunter to cut ties with Lenee.
Mariah went on multiple social media platforms to say this:
“I just wish that these men would at least be honest and say ‘When I saw that clip of Travis Hunter’s girlfriend not giving him a kiss after a game, I was so upset because I know I should be the woman by his side.’ That’s how y’all sound.”

The 2000 NBA Most Improved Player winner's daughter with Mauri Goens continued:
“I have never seen men unite to this point, turn into the CIA dig up everything they can find on this girl to try to get Travis Hunter to leave her. Do y’all wanna date him? S**t! … This is not a game. … It's giving revenge corn at this point."
Hunter recently said that he and Lenee have been together for five years. They were engaged in February and will tie the knot in May next year. Many on social media, however, have been trying to dissuade him from marrying her.
Some reacted to her seemingly exasperated behavior after a Buffalo game. Dez Bryant asked the emerging football star to “wake up and quit playing.” Bryant added that she “has nothing to offer but a f**king headache.”
A few of Hunter’s teammates have defended him and his relationship with Leanna Lenee. Colorado quarterback Shadeur Sanders stood up for the team’s wideout/cornerback star. Mariah Rose is doing the same thing.
Mariah Rose claims she knows why NBA ratings are dropping, suggests ways to fix it
Mariah Rose, a sports content creator, also dug into the NBA ratings drop. She had this to say about how the growing disinterest in basketball fans could be addressed:
“I have an idea how to fix the NBA’s ratings problem. There’s a lot of reasons people aren’t enjoying watching like they used to. Whether it be everybody trying to play like Steph Curry or everyone running the same offense is obviously gonna be boring visually.
“The big thing the NBA is missing right now are storylines.”
Rose added that the WNBA had record viewership and attendance because of Caitlin Clark’s rivalry with Angel Reese. She claimed that men's pro basketball doesn’t have the same rivalries as it used to.
Jalen Rose’s daughter suggested making draft eligibility stricter by requiring players to play longer in college. By doing so, fans get more storylines to follow as they can identify more with the players. Clark and Reese developed their rivalry in college. Rose added that Paige Bueckers versus Juju Watkins is another rivalry that will add more color to the WNBA and bring in more fans.
Rose’s suggestion to fix the ratings drop is drastic. She isn’t the only one to offer that solution, though, so it remains to be seen if the league will go that route.
