Jrue Holiday wholesomely reacts to Rock duo Tenacious D crowning him

After being traded from the Milwaukee Bucks, Jrue Holiday played a key role in the Boston Celtics winning the NBA Championship this season. While he didn't receive the Finals MVP honor, one music group gave him the recognition he allegedly deserves.

On Tuesday, Jack Black and Kyle Glass gave out their "Tenacious DMVP" award. Because of his work on the defensive end, Holiday was given this honor by the rock duo.

Jrue Holiday ended up reposting the video on social media and showed love, saying that he's always been a big fan:

"Yooooo this is crazy!! Fr one of my favorite PPL!! Love you dude!!

Tenacious D have been a rock duo since 1994 and have close ties to the NBA. Their name is short for tenacious defense, a phrase made famous by longtime broadcaster Marv Albert and former New York Knicks guard Walt Frazier. While rock music is their genre, Tenacious D is most known for their comedic style.

As for Holiday, he did a little bit of everything for the Celtics in their finals win over the Dallas Mavericks. Along with defending Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, he averaged 14.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists.

Jrue Holiday shares special moment with Brad Stevens following Boston Celtics title win

Jrue Holiday would not have been in a position to receive this honor if not for the work of the Boston Celtics front office. Following Game 5, the All-Star guard shared a special moment with General Manager Brad Stevens.

Before arriving in Boston, Holiday spent the past few seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks. He helped them to a championship in his first year there, but the team came up short the next two. Last summer, the Bucks decided to shake things up and make a big splash for Damian Lillard.

As part of the Lillard trade, Jrue Holiday was sent to the Portland Trail Blazers. He wasn't there long, as they eventually re-routed him to the Celtics in another trade. Playing alongside Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Holiday was once again in a position to compete for a championship.

During the Celtics' celebration, GM Brad Stevens did an interview with local TV. Holiday ended up crashing the interview to have a heartfelt moment with him. He was at a loss for words to start but simply thanked Stevens for bringing him to Boston.

"Thanks for bringing me here," Holiday said. "There's no greater feeling than this."

With another title added to his resumé, Holiday has cemented himself as one of the most underrated players of his generation. He has also joined the rare group of players to win titles with multiple franchises.
