France's national basketball team will face Australia's national team for an exhibition game ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics on Sunday. It's the last game in preparation either team will play before they chase for a medal.

France has dropped their last two exhibition games, including an 85-73 loss to Canada and a 79-67 loss against Serbia. They're led by a 7-foot plus frontcourt, featuring San Antonio Spurs sophomore center Victor Wembanyama and Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert.

Wembanyama has been quiet for the French team, scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds against Serbia and then 10 points and seven rebounds against Canada. The French squad won their first two friendly matches against Germany and Turkey.

They've got more NBA talent on the roster, including Washington Wizards forward Bilal Coulibaly and former NBA guard Evan Fournier. They just lost former New York Knicks draft pick Frank Ntilikina owing to injury. They're part of Group B with Brazil, Japan, and Germany. They play their first match against Brazil on July 27.

Australia is led by Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey and NBA veteran Patty Mills. They've played the most exhibition matches this summer in preparation for Paris, and their match on Sunday will be their eighth of nine before they play their first game against Spain on July 27. They're in a tough Group A that includes Spain, Canada, and Greece.

Their only loss this summer was against Team USA, who beat them 98-92 on July 15. Giddey had 15 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. In their last exhibition game against Puerto Rico, Giddey had 19 points and five assists.

Dallas Mavericks guard Dante Exum had an injury scare in their last exhibition match but was cleared and may return to play against the French team.

The two teams last played in a friendly match last season, ahead of the 2023 FIBA World Cup. Australia won the game 78-74. They played twice in the FIBA 2019 World Cup, each winning one game.
