"Get the ammo, bazooka and the .50 cal ready" - Kyrie Irving sheds light on his mindset for Game 4 after falling behind 0-3

Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks found themselves in a huge 0-3 hole in the 2024 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics. However, it seems like Irving has not lost faith and continues to have the right mindset ahead of Game 4. The Mavericks will need to win the next four games to prevent the Celtics from winning title No. 18.

In his postgame interview on Wednesday, Irving was asked by reporters about what the Mavs need to do to stay alive in the NBA Finals. He went all in like a real Texan by using weapons metaphor to send a message.

"It's a metaphor here so just be ready. Go home, get the ammo ready, get the bazooka, get the .50 cal ready, you know? Get everything ready 'cause when we come into Game 4, we know that we got to shoot our guns, we got to shoot our shots and we got to do it with an aggression," Irving said.

Kyrie Irving finished the game with 35 points, which was his best so far in the NBA Finals after two terrible nights in Boston. Irving and Luka Doncic continue to be the only two bright spots for the Dallas Mavericks, with the rest of the team failing to step up and knock down shots.

Irving and Doncic shot terribly in the first two rounds of the playoffs before coming alive in the Western Conference finals against the Minnesota Timberwolves. And every time they struggled with their shots, their role players stepped up to give the team a lot of boost.

However, nothing has worked for the Mavericks, especially their 3-point shooting in the NBA Finals. If Dallas wants to make the series interesting, they need to dig deeper and aim for history. There has never been a team to successful come back from a 0-3 deficit.

Kyrie Irving is not pointing the finger at Luka Doncic after the Dallas Mavericks lost Game 3 of the NBA Finals. Doncic fouled out of the game with around four minutes left in the fourth quarter, which might have cost the Mavericks a chance to get the victory.

However, Irving showed his support for his teammate, who had a terrible fourth quarter in terms of fouls. Doncic could have easily avoided getting into foul trouble, but that's the nature of the game.

"We just let it breathe a little bit. Let the human emotions come out and just give him a hug. That's it, man. It's easy to point the finger at just him and say, 'You could be better.' That's easy to say, I think he knows that. It's just reiterating that I got his back, we all have his back. It's a tough game, a tough call," Irving said.
