Giannis Antetokounmpo's brother Thanasis Antetokounmpo addressed comments saying that he only played in the NBA because of his brother. While he's rehabbing a torn Achilles tendon, the former Bucks small forward was interviewed by rapper Cam'Ron on his new show "Come & Talk with Flee."
After starring in a skit that discussed his past beef with Cam'Ron, they sat down and talked for over an hour. In the early minutes of the show, the $6 million worth rapper (per Celebrity Net Worth) asked Thanasis about the people who said he's riding his brother's status.
"I tell you this, if it's that easy, why they don't do it?" Thanasis said (05:50). "That's one. Second of all, guys, I'll give an example. This is the misconception, this is what pisses me the most off. I know who I am, because I've played so many years. If I was just a kid coming in, I would be like, 'Oh s**t, they own me,' but it's my 12th year, bro. You just know about me now."
Thanasis added that nobody has given him anything that he can't handle and after using a metaphor involving a Ferrari car, he said he was happy to be close to his family and getting to play alongside his brother in the NBA while earning the respect of his peers.

"I'm actually honored because they value what I do, they value who I am towards them and what I bring to the table, so I'm cool always," Thanasis said.
Thanasis Antetokounmpo worked his way up before landing with Milwaukee
Thanasis Antetokounmpo was the 51st overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft by the New York Knicks. He played for the Westchester Knicks in the then-NBA D-League in the 2014-15 season. After being on and off with New York, he played in Greece before returning to the NBA.
After winning the Greek Basket League championship in 2019, he was signed by the Milwaukee Bucks, reuniting with his brother Giannis. He was a member of the 2021 NBA champion squad and was even credited as the catalyst for Giannis' excellent performance against the Phoenix Suns.
Thanasis has denied that his brother functions better when he's around, but takes pride in people having him in such good regard when it comes to his team's chances to succeed.
