It was a clash of titans billed as "Greek Freak vs. Alien" as Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Milwaukee Bucks took on Victor Wembanyama’s San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night at Fiserv Forum. The Bucks steamrolled the Spurs 121-105.
Both teams entered the game with 5-5 records over their last 10 games and were eager to build momentum early in the year.
The first quarter was a tight battle, with the Bucks edging out a 31-27 lead. Antetokounmpo led the charge with 11 points, highlighted by three powerful dunks, while Wembanyama contributed seven points for the Spurs.
In the second quarter, Antetokounmpo only needed to add four points as the Bucks dominated, outscoring the Spurs 34-19. Brook Lopez was the top scorer at halftime with 17 points, while Antetokounmpo had 15, and AJ Green provided a spark off the bench with 14.

No Spurs player reached double figures by halftime, with Wembanyama tallying seven points on 3-of-7 shooting.
The Spurs rallied in the third quarter and trimmed the deficit to single digits, but the Bucks held them off until the buzzer, en route to a 16-point win.
Giannis Antetokounmpo finished the game with 25 points, 16 rebounds and eight assists. His efforts were supported by Damian Lillard’s 26 points and Brook Lopez’s 22.
Off the bench, AJ Green and Gary Trent Jr. contributed 14 points apiece for the Bucks.
Victor Wembanyama managed just 10 points on 10 shots but added 10 rebounds. Keldon Johnson and Chris Paul led the Spurs with 24 and 18 points, respectively.

Back in August, Giannis Antetokounmpo shared his thoughts on Victor Wembanyama and the immense potential he sees in the young star.
During an interview with Boardroom, Antetokounmpo emphasized that Wembanyama has the opportunity to become the greatest player of all time.
“He has the chance to be the best. Not at his age, not in Europe… but one of the best to ever play this game," Antetokounmpo said.
In the most recent NBA MVP ladder from NBA.com, the "Greek Freak" ranks No. 3, while "Wemby" holds the No. 5 spot.
Wembanyama, the 2023-24 Rookie of the Year, is averaging 25.6 points, 10.8 rebounds and 4.0 blocks this season.
