Golden State Warriors rumors: Andrew Wiggins and Kevon Looney have 'zero' value, per NBA insider

Golden State Warriors v Sacramento Kings - Game Five
Andrew Wiggins and Kevon Looney have little to no value according to NBA insider

The Golden State Warriors are trying to fix their season right now. They've fallen out of the Play-In picture in the Western Conference standings and are hoping for a turnaround in fortunes. Trade talks have surrounded Golden State this season, and many experts have given their take on what the team could do next.

One expert discussed whether the Warriors could solve their issues if they traded a few key players, but it's not looking bright for the team. According to Brian Windhorst, there aren't any trades that could save the team's season. Windhorst stated that two key players on the roster won't generate much value in the trade market now.

"I think [Andrew] Wiggins has next to zero value and [Kevon] Looney has next to zero value," Windhorst said.

Wiggins was an All-Star two seasons ago for the first time in his career. He helped the team win the 2022 title over the Boston Celtics with his tenacity on the court. However, he's hit a roadblock this year. His numbers are down, only averaging 11.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting under 30% from beyond the arc.

Looney, on the other hand, hasn't improved his offense. Although he's still an excellent rebounder, there aren't any teams that have drawn interest to him.

Steph Curry the only player to be untouchable at the trade deadline for the Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are desperate to make changes and save their season. They are eyeing the trade deadline to make certain changes and possibly get back on track to be a playoff team.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Warriors have named Steph Curry as the only untouchable player on the roster for this season.

"The mindset in Golden State right now is everyone but Steph Curry is on the table," Charania said.

Charania explained that while Thompson and Green aren't labeled as untouchables, the front office still envisions the stars in the team.

"Klay Thompson, would they want to keep him long term and keep him in Golden State? I think that's been their hope... and Draymond Green just got back from an extension."

Thompson and the Warriors have not agreed on a contract extension, and negotiations have died down. However, there's optimism that the five-time All-Star will still play for Golden State moving forward. As for Green, he's coming off a 12-game suspension and is still under contract.
