Two Western Conference teams coming off tough losses faced off in Saturday’s Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves game. The Warriors were reeling from a 51-point defeat to the Memphis Grizzlies, while the Timberwolves had been routed by former star Karl-Anthony Towns and the New York Knicks in their previous matchup.
The Warriors opened the game with a strong start and held off a late Timberwolves rally to secure a 113-103 victory.
The Warriors quickly established a 26-15 advantage in the first quarter, as the Timberwolves struggled to find their rhythm, with no player scoring more than five points.
Golden State continued to stifle Minnesota in the second quarter, holding them to just 22 points while adding 24 of their own to lead 50-37 at halftime.

Steph Curry topped all scorers at the half with 11 points and four assists, including three 3-pointers, while Buddy Hield chipped in with eight points. Trayce Jackson-Davis contributed six points, seven rebounds and two blocks.
Rudy Gobert was the only Timberwolves player in double figures at halftime, registering 10 points and six rebounds. Julius Randle added nine points and five rebounds, while Anthony Edwards struggled, making only one field goal out of nine attempts.
The Timberwolves came out aggressive in the third quarter, even grabbing the lead with 4:24 remaining after Naz Reid nailed a 3-pointer. However, the Warriors regained control and ended the quarter ahead 79-75, capped by a Buddy Hield triple.
Golden State turned up the heat in the fourth, scoring 34 points while holding Minnesota to 28, sealing a 113-103 victory.
Steph Curry led the game with 31 points and 10 assists, sinking seven of his 16 attempts from beyond the arc. Trayce Jackson-Davis contributed 15 points and nine rebounds, Brandin Podziemski added 12, while Buddy Hield and Jonathan Kuminga chipped in with 11 each.
For the Timberwolves, Donte DiVincenzo and Anthony Edwards led with 19 points each. Julius Randle and Naz Reid added 16 apiece, and Rudy Gobert posted a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle struggle in loss
The Timberwolves struggled with ball control, committing 15 turnovers — five more than the Warriors. Their star players, Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle, also had a tough night, shooting a combined 10-for-33 from the field.
Randle finished at 4-for-13 (30.8%), while Edwards managed 6-for-20 (30.0%). As a team, Minnesota shot 41.9%, falling short of the Warriors' more efficient 46.0%.
The Timberwolves will take on the Atlanta Hawks before facing the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas Day.
