The Golden State Warriors continued their short two-game road trip on Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Warriors were looking to bounce back after an embarrassing 104-101 loss to the Toronto Raptors, while the Timberwolves dominated the Washington Wizards 120-106.

Golden State was dominant for the majority of the game, building a 24-point lead in the first quarter. But since the Warriors don't know how to close games, the Timberwolves came back and tied the score at 108 with just one minute left in regulation.

The Warriors barely held on to get the narrow 116-115 victory, almost blowing another lead and failing to close out a game they should have won easily. Steph Curry had 31 points and eight assists, while Andrew Wiggins contributed 24 points against his former team.

Buddy Hield scored 18 points off the bench, which meant that the Warriors improved to 10-0 for the season if the sharpshooting two-guard scores 18 points or more.

Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves Game Summary

The Golden State Warriors looked like their old selves from the first 15 games of the season in the first quarter of tonight's game. They dominated the Minnesota Timberwolves on both ends of the floor, limiting them to just 12 points. They built a comfortable 34-12 lead heading into the second quarter.

Minnesota began knocking on the door as the Warriors struggled with Steph Curry on the bench in the second quarter. Curry had a quiet period with just two points as The Timberwolves managed to trim the deficit to just 10 points with three minutes left at the half.

Golden State maintained their composure to finish the half strong and earn a 55-42 lead entering the third quarter. Buddy Hield had 10 points off the bench, while Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo kept things afloat for the Timberwolves.

While the Minnesota Timberwolves could have easily given up, they mounted a comeback in the second half. They outscored the Golden State Warriors 36-32 in the third quarter before finally tying the game with around a minute left in regulation.

With the score tied at 108, Steph Curry came up clutch for the Warriors. He made a 3-point shot from the corner with 47 seconds left. The Timberwolves countered with a quick two, needing just one stop to give themselves a chance to win.

However, they were overly aggressive and committed two personal fouls to send Andrew Wiggins to the line. The Warriors ended up pulling off a gritty 116-115 win, which could have been a disastrous result.

Golden State is back to having a .500 record at 20-20, currently sitting 10th in the West standings. Minnesota, on the other hand, dropped to 22-19 for the season.
