The Golden State Warriors took on the San Antonio Spurs at Frost Bank Center on Sunday. Though the Spurs are currently out of the playoff picture, this game had postseason implications for the Warriors as they looked to secure a spot in the Western Conference's top six.

Heading into this game, the Warriors held a 42-31 record as they hold on to the No. 6 spot, just a half game ahead of the Minnesota Timberwolves and LA Clippers (who both have a 42-32 record).

A win over the Spurs, without young stars Victor Wembanyama and De'Aaron Fox, would go a long way in helping Golden State create distance from the two other playoff contenders.

When the dust settled in San Antonio, it was the Warriors who prevailed 148-106 to get their 43rd win of the season. Brandin Podziemski had a huge game with 27 points on 7-for-9 shooting from beyond the arc, along with six rebounds and five assists. Moses Moody added 20 points on 7-for-11 shooting, while Buddy Hield contributed 19 points, five rebounds, and four assists off the bench.

The Spurs' reserves, meanwhile, provided a much-needed spark for the team's offense in this game. Keldon Johnson had 19 points while Sandro Mamukelashvili had a double-double performance with 14 points and 11 rebounds. San Antonio's defense, however, allowed Golden State to shoot 57.7% from the field (47.7% from three). The Wariors also outrebounded the Spurs 44-34 in this high-scoring affair.
