Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the NBA today. He is one of the best inside scorers the league has ever seen. Having that said, it appears that Antetokounmpo has taken his specialty to the next level as he is averaging a higher percentage in field goals compared to his free throws.

As of the Milwaukee Bucks' win over the Orland Magic on Friday, Antetokounmpo is shooting 60.2% from the field and 59.1% from the charity stripe.

Giannis Antetokounmpo remains in top 3 MVP candidates despite lousy free throw performance

Giannis Antetokounmpo has won NBA MVP twice, but it's been four seasons since his last award. Despite coming up short since that time, Antetokounmpo consistently remains among the top MVP candidates.

The current KIA MVP Ladder on NBA.com has Giannis at No. 3. Despite his poor shooting on free throws and 3-point shots, the Greek Freak is still carrying the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference.

Looking at Giannis' numbers, he's averaging 31.7 points, which leads the NBA, 11.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.5 blocks per game. He is also shooting 60.2% from the field, which is not too far from his career high of 61.1%. His 10.6 free-throw attempts per game also lead the league by a wide margin.

Despite their early struggles this season, Giannis Antetokounmpo has turned things around and has brought the Milwaukee Bucks back to elite status. They are currently in fourth place in the conference with a 20-16 record. Thanks to this turnaround, Antetokounmpo's case for MVP has become more solid.
