NBA fans were left stunned after Jaylen Brown showed up with Kysre Gondrezick at the 2024 ESPY Awards on Thursday. Brown and Gondrezick became an item when the former Chicago Sky guard was seen with the NBA Finals MVP during the Boston Celtics' championship parade.

Brown represented the Celtics at the ESPYs with Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday and Derrick White busy with Team USA. He has criticized USA Basketball for not being selected to replace Kawhi Leonard, while also blaming Nike for the snub.

As a consolation, the 27-year-old swingman won the 2024 ESPY Award for Best Championship Performance. He beat Blake Corum and Will Johnson of Michigan, Kayla Martello of Boston College Women's Lacrosse and Midge Purce of NJ/NY Gotham FC.

NBA fans were shocked to see Jaylen Brown with Kysre Gondrezick at the 2024 ESPYs, possibly confirming dating rumors. Nevertheless, some can't even be mad at Brown since he deserves all the happiness in the world after being snubbed by Team USA.

"JB really capped off the season with greatest redemption arc of all time," one fan wrote.
"Jaylen Brown is a winner on and off the court," a fan claimed.
"Hand placement tells me everything. 2024 is JB year fr," another fan remarked.

Jaylen Brown started his season by signing a $304 million extension with the Boston Celtics. Brown got off to a slow start adjusting to new teammates Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday. It didn't matter since they worked seamlessly as a team to finish with the best record in the NBA.

Fast forward to the playoffs, Brown won the Larry Bird MVP trophy and NBA Finals trophy on top of a championship. And off the court, he seems happy with Kysre Gondrezick.

"He really winning in life man," one fan wrote.
"Dude will be forever the face of 2024," a fan commented.
"Jaylen WON. Ky looks amazing," another fan claimed.

Grant Hill explains Jaylen Brown Team USA snub

The only blemish in Jaylen Brown's year is being left off Team USA for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Team USA managing director Grant Hill explained to reporters on Wednesday why they had to make the difficult decision to choose Derrick White over the reigning NBA Finals MVP.

"You have to build a team. And one of the hardest things is leaving people off the roster that I'm a fan of, that I look forward to watching throughout the season, throughout the playoffs. Guys who've been Finals MVP, guys who have been a part of the program, guys who've won gold medals. Guys who I respect, admire and enjoy watching. But the responsibility that I have is to put together a team and a team that complements each other," Hill said. [H/T Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston]

Despite what Hill said, some fans can't help but question if Nike had something to do with Brown's omission. Others also pointed out that two, now three, of his Boston Celtics teammates, are part of the roster and would likely not have difficulty adjusting his game.
