LA Lakers star forward LeBron James has played in 1,410 regular-season games over his 20-year career with Cleveland, Miami and LA. He has amassed an NBA record of 38,390 total career points and counting over that span.
James' highest single-game points total of 61 points came on March 3, 2014, against Charlotte when he was at his peak with the Heat. Most fans remember his iconic performances like that, but few remember the rare games James failed to make an impact on the box score. That begs the question, what is the lowest single-game points total of James’ career, and has he ever had a zero-point game?
The answer to the second part of that question is no, James has never scored zero points in an NBA game. However, he once finished with just three points in his second season. That occurred on Dec. 29, 2004, when he recorded three points, three rebounds and five assists on 0-for-5 shooting against Houston. James only played 17 minutes that game with all three of his points coming at the free-throw line (3-for-5).
Given his dominance throughout his legendary career, it’s almost difficult to fathom that James once played a game without scoring a single basket. However, it only happened once in his entire career. In addition, James has scored below ten points in a regular-season game only eight times in his career. The last instance came on Jan. 5, 2007, when he finished with just eight points against Milwaukee.

That means James has now scored ten-plus points in 1,140 consecutive regular-season games in the last 16-plus years. The previous record was Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan’s 866 consecutive games with ten-plus points. So, at this point, it appears that James’ new record may be unbeatable, as he's showing no signs of slowing down in year 20.
How many times has LeBron James scored below 10 points in playoffs?
When it comes to the playoffs, LeBron James has been almost equally as dominant. James has playe 266 career playoff games and only finished below ten points in a playoff game twice.
The first was his infamous eight-point game in Game 4 of the 2011 NBA Finals against Dallas. The second in Game 5 of the 2014 Eastern Conference Finals against Indiana, where James finished with just seven points. That means James has now scored ten-plus points in 114 consecutive playoff games in the last nine years.
So all things considered, LeBron James has been arguably the most consistent and reliable player in NBA history en route to his new all-time scoring record.
