Anthony Davis and Joel Embiid have given their respective teams a plethora of big moments over the years. On Christmas Day, however, both of them had bloopers worthy of YouTube gag reels.
The third game on this Dec. 25 slate pitted the Philadelphia 76ers against the defending champions Boston Celtics at TD Garden. As Embiid was taking an outside shot during warmups, he tripped backward over a courtside rope meant to keep spectators away from the players. The one-time MVP clutched his right leg afterward — apparently, he'd rolled his ankle.

Fans were quick to make their thoughts known on Embiid's incident:
"Nah Joel embiid should only get paid after the completion of each game he plays lmaoo this is insane," one fan said.
"Praying for him to be able to open his presents today and avoid wrist injury while eating turkey later tonight," quipped another.
Embiid eventually shook off his injury and scored 27 in the Sixers' 118-114 win over the Celtics. While the big Cameroonian overcame his injury scare, the same cannot be said about Davis, who seemingly rolled his ankle while walking into a rebounding position late in the first quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers versus Golden State Warriors showdown.
Fans had plenty to say on X/Twitter about Davis as well:
"Wtf nahhh they need to void Anthony davis on FanDuel," one disappointed fan said.
"I refuse to put my hard-earned American dollars on anything Anthony Davis related for the remainder of the season," another fan added.
Despite Anthony Davis' absence, Lakers hold on to defeat Warriors
Though Davis' loss was a huge blow to the Lakers, LeBron James held the fort and multiple Lakers stepped up to secure the 115-113 win over the Warriors.
James finished with 31 rebounds and 10 assists while also getting key contributions from Austin Reaves (26 points, including the go-ahead layup with 1.7 seconds to go), Rui Hachimura (18 points on 50% FG shooting) and Max Christie (16 points and four rebounds).
The Lakers held a precarious 84-76 lead to begin the fourth quarter, but Steph Curry (38 points, 8-of-15 from distance) led a Warriors comeback punctuated by a 32-foot 3 to tie the game at 113 apiece.
Then Reaves converted on his final layup of the game, allowing the Lakers to come away with the two-point victory in front of a stunned crowd inside Chase Center.
