A 2008 video of LeBron James defeating Chris Paul in the latter's celebrity bowling competition recently resurfaced on social media. The clip left NBA fans buzzing about James' versatile skill set.
Paul debuted his bowling tournament, titled the "Chris Paul PBA Celebrity Invitational," ahead of the 2008-09 NBA season. James and Paul, then-stars of the Cleveland Cavaliers and New Orleans Hornets, were two of several high-profile NBA players who participated in the event. Others included Kevin Durant, Rudy Gay and Dwyane Wade.
Each player was partnered up with a professional bowler, with PBA stars Chris Barnes, Jason Couch, Mitch Beasley, Doug Kent and Tommy Jones competing.
James, paired with Couch, defeated Paul and Barnes in the tournament's title match. James bowled a late strike to help secure the victory, later expressing confidence on the sideline as his teammate finished the job. Meanwhile, Paul appeared dismayed as he watched his NBA adversary and close friend snatch the bowling championship.

LeBron James cracked joke after beating Chris Paul in his bowling tournament
After dispatching Chris Paul in his bowling competition, LeBron James cracked a joke about the sport being his main focus.
"I just play basketball for fun. That's what I do, I bowl. I mean, that's what I do," James said.
When asked whether it was harder to defeat Paul in bowling or basketball, James raved about the point guard's competitive spirit. He added that their intense competition levels added significance to his bowling title.
"See, I don't know because Chris, he's such a competitor, man, on the basketball court, or here bowling," James said. "So, anytime you get one up on Chris, man, it lasts forever because I know how bad he wanted to win. But I wanted to win bad, too. So, we won."

Despite Paul's apparent disappointment with the tournament's result, he and James have remained close friends.
