NBA fans let Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid have it after he continued to assert that the reason why their rivals, the Boston Celtics, won the NBA title was because they had a superteam led by Jayson Tatum.
The 30-year-old former league MVP discussed Boston's title win in the most recent episode of the "Check Ball Show" on YouTube, which aired on Tuesday, emphasizing how if he had the same team as Tatum, he could have already won an NBA championship.

NBA fans did not let Joel Embiid's comments on the Celtics pass, grilling the Team USA member by sharing their own take on social media. Below is what some of them wrote on X, formerly Twitter:

"'He literally has PG and Maxey,' one fan highlighted, referring to the 'Big 3' that Embiid will be forming for next season after All-Star Paul George signed with the Sixers."
Another user picked up on George signing with the Sixers in roasting Embiid, saying,
"2 all stars, no excuses this year buddy.'"
Some suggested that instead of continuously harping on what he does not have, Joel Embiid should dig deeper and make things happen in Philadelphia.
"'Cope harder,' one fan asserted."
Another said,
"Bro you not even shape enough to make it thru the playoffs."
"'He always has excuses. Maybe don't miss half the season and you will be better,' a fan added.
Other fans pointed out how Embiid's comments were akin to throwing his teammates under the bus.
"Ouch, Joel throwin his teammates under the bus," one said.
"'Im sure his teammates will love this. Its all about him, no wonder he cant win," another chimed in.
While Tatum, along with All-Stars Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, went on to win the NBA title over the Dallas Mavericks in the Finals, Joel Embiid and the Sixers exited in the opening round of the Eastern Conference playoffs after losing in seven games to the New York Knicks.
Joel Embiid welcomes Sixers move to bring in Paul George for added help
When the 2024–25 NBA season unfurls, Joel Embiid will have added support after the Philadelphia 76ers signed All-Star guard Paul George. It was a move that the superstar big man commended, seeing how the team could well benefit from it.
The former third overall pick (2014) shared his thoughts on the 'PG' deal with sideline reporters at Team USA's practice session for the Paris Olympic Games.
"My focus is on helping [my teammates] as much as possible. Making the game easy for them, so I don't have to do a lot, like in the past years," he said via The Philadelphia Inquirer. "It was exciting [getting George]. Obviously, that's a great job that [the front office] did. But we've still got to go on the court and try to win."
Joel Embiid only played 39 games for the Sixers last season because of injuries but had a career-high 34.7-point average along with 11.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.2 steals.
He played six games in the postseason and was still solid, averaging 33.0 points, 10.8 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.2 steals in 42 minutes.
George, meanwhile, averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals for the LA Clippers last season.
