Fans were quick to criticize Paul George after yet another disappointing performance in the Philadelphia 76ers' 126-99 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday. On the second night of a back-to-back, George struggled significantly, managing just 11 points on 4 of 12 shooting, including 1 of 4 from 3-point range.

This comes after another lackluster outing in the Sixers' 108-98 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday, where George tallied just five points while shooting a dismal 2 of 12 from the field, including 1 of 7 from beyond the arc.

After witnessing the nine-time All-Star's back-to-back underwhelming performances, fans did not hold back, fiercely criticizing George for failing to live up to expectations, especially after signing a four-year, $212 million contract with the Sixers in the offseason.

Paul George in 2024-25 season

The Philadelphia 76ers' decision to sign Paul George to a max contract during the offseason has yet to yield positive results. George has struggled to find his rhythm this season and his underwhelming performances have been a significant factor in the team's disappointing 9-17 record, leaving them in 12th place in the conference standings.

The former LA Clippers star has also dealt with availability issues, missing 10 of the team’s 26 games and appearing in only 16 games so far. Even when on the court, George has failed to meet expectations, delivering subpar performances.

The veteran forward is averaging 16.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game while shooting 41.7% from the field, including a modest 33.3% from beyond the arc. Hence, fans have raised concerns about his ability to justify the hefty investment the Sixers made in him.
