Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga surprised NBA fans with his new look. After a tumultuous 2023-24 season, the young player is set to take on a bigger role with the Warriors and he's made some changes to prepare for the upcoming season.
Kuminga showed up with a beard and a short haircut, but that wasn't the biggest surprise as he also went blonde. An image of his new look was shared on X (formerly Twitter), which sent fans into a frenzy.
The comparisons didn't take long to arrive, with some fans likening him to Michael Jordan and Dennis Rodman.

"He looks like Rodman & MJ at the same time," one fan said.
"Wants to be Rodman SO BAD smh," another fan said.
Others said Jonathan Kuminga looked like Kai Jones.
"Thought this what Kai Jones 😬," one fan said.
"Bro taking notes from Kai Jones💀," another fan said.
One fan went further and said that Steph Curry should request a trade after seeing Kuminga's new look.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr was criticized by fans over how he used Kuminga, particularly for benching the forward despite his strong performances last season.
Jonathan Kuminga was reportedly disappointed with Kerr before he started getting more minutes, especially in crunch time. He finished the season playing 74 games, averaging 16.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, shooting 52.9% from the field and 74.6% from the free-throw line.
Stephen A. Smith calls out Warriors for failing to build around Steph Curry outside of Jonathan Kuminga
NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith didn't mince words when talking about the Warriors' inability to bring help for Steph Curry. His Paris Olympics run confirmed that Steph can still be impactful, but he needs to be surrounded by the right talent.
"I'm still looking at the organization as a whole, specifically Steve Kerr and I'm saying, 'How come we can't get this brother any additional help?' We're talking about a Steph Curry that still looks like he's in his prime. Still the greatest shooter on the planet, still good for 25 a game, still good for 40-percent shooting-plus from 3-point range. Why the hell can we not get him (help)?" Smith said. After Klay Thompson left the Warriors to join the Mavericks, the Warriors added Kyle Anderson, Buddy Hield and De'Anthony Melton. These are good players, but none of them is a solid second option for the team. Jonathan Kuminga is expected to take that role, but as of right now, it doesn't seem to be enough to help Golden State get over the hump.
