Patrick Beverley reportedly turns down NBA teams to join Hapoel Tel Aviv
After leaving the Milwaukee Bucks, Patrick Beverley reportedly turned down offers from two NBA teams to sign with Hapoel Tel Aviv. According to reporter Christos Tsaltas, Pat Bev received offers from the Detroit Pistons and Houston Rockets. The NBA franchises reportedly promised the backup guard a veteran minimum contract.
However, the former Bucks player took his talents from the NBA and the United States and signed a $4 million two-year deal with the Israeli team. Beverley had a mediocre season last year in Milwaukee where he came off the bench in most of the games. He averaged 6.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists last season, one of his least-productive NBA campaigns.
During his NBA career, Beverley played 666 games, averaging 8.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. He has made the All-Defensive team three times and will remain one of the best defenders the league has seen in the last decade.
