NBA analyst Colin Cowherd gave his thoughts about Boston Celtics star forward Jayson Tatum and his lack of playing time with Team USA.

The Americans started the 2024 Paris Olympic Games with a 110-84 win against Serbia. There were several impressive aspects of the game for Team USA. But one thing that stood out was Tatum not getting to play.

Tatum is one of the best players in the NBA and recently helped his team win the title. Aside from that, he's also a five-time All-Star, making him one of the top players in the league.

However, he wasn't given time to play against Serbia, despite it being a blowout win. Cowherd shared his thoughts on the matter on Monday and the analyst didn't sugarcoat any of it.

"There's no part of his game, when you surround him with great players, that stands out," Cowherd said. "Shooting? Well, no. That's Kevin Durant, Steph Curry and Derrick White. Defense? No, that's Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday and Bam [Adebayo]. Leadership? No, that's LeBron [James] and Steph [Curry]. Athleticly? No, that's Ant [Edwards].
"There's nothing on this team he's best at. Ant's the most athletic, LeBron the great leader, Steph and KD, [Devin] Booker, the great shooter - even Derrick White shoots. He's not a great defender compared to him. He's B+ at everything, jack of all trades at everything and he's a top 10-ish player. He's good, he wins, he's collaborative."

Looking at the current roster, there are areas where specific players stand out among the rest. Still, Team USA's coaching staff might find a way to put Tatum in the game as he's a top player in the league.

Former Boston Celtics player addressed Jayson Tatum's lack of playing time with Team USA

Many were surprised to find out that Jayson Tatum didn't get the chance to play in their Olympic opener. Coach Steve Kerr has already apologized for how he wasn't able to give Tatum time, but a few fans still haven't moved on.

Theo Pinson recently addressed the matter on social media, giving his thoughts on why the Celtics star should play.

"The explanation for JT not playing was flat out sad.… A guy like JT you FIND a way to get him on the floor and honestly it’s not a hard thing to do smh s**t is sad," Pinson said.

Team USA will take on South Sudan for their next game and Kerr has shared that he's planning on playing Tatum.

Pinson was with the Celtics' 2021 training camp and got a chance to work out with Tatum and other players on the team. He clearly rates Tatum highly.
