An old video of Dennis Rodman seemingly taking a shot at Steve Kerr's coaching recently resurfaced on social media. Fans reacted to the video amid criticism of how Kerr has handled Team USA since taking over Gregg Popovich following the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
In a video uploaded on Reddit by LatinX_Ally, Rodman was asked about Kerr's coaching of the Golden State Warriors. He called it "sh*t" with his former teammate relying on his players to shoot the ball.
"Steve Kerr ain’t coaching sh*t. Steve Kerr's having a good time. He ain't coaching. He's just having a good time. He just sitting there and letting those kids shoot. That's all he’s doing, man. He's just sittings there. He ain’t doing no damn thing," Rodman said.

It was also shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, and fans began to find flaws in Steve Kerr's coaching methods for Team USA. Some even pointed out that Kerr rode Steph Curry to success in winning four NBA championships.
"He's a Curry merchant," one fan wrote.
"Mark Jackson walked so Kerr could run," a fan replied.
"Exactly why Spo should be the head coach for Team USA," another fan responded.
Steve Kerr's first big tournament as head coach for Team USA was the 2023 FIBA World Cup. Team USA didn't bring their best players in the tournament, finishing fourth behind Germany, Serbia and Canada.
"Tbh it's probably the hardest job in basketball to coach the best of the best of the best," a fan claimed.
"He ain't lying all they do is run around setting illegal screens for wide open 3s," one fan commented.
"I expect for Kerr to retire after the Stephen Curry era, in similar fashion to what Phil Jackson did to the Bulls and Lakers," another fan remarked.
Dennis Rodman was joking when he said those things about Steve Kerr
While fans would love to see former teammates beefing, Dennis Rodman and Steve Kerr are friends off the court. They played three years together with the Chicago Bulls and even won three NBA championships.
Kerr was one of several teammates brought in by Phil Jackson to monitor Rodman and make him feel comfortable. The video from Reddit is from December 2014 when Kerr was just in his first year in charge of the Golden State Warriors and were on an 18-2 start.
Dennis Rodman was joking around when he called Kerr's coaching "sh*t" and clarified his take, as per Sheridan Hoops.
"All these players coming in as coaches and stuff like that and I'm like, you get into a system where you can actually win, where you don't have to do anything. You just hire a bunch of good assistant coaches, and you’re good to go. You're good to go. But like I said, me and Steve Kerr have been really good friends. He's a cool ass guy. We go out sometimes to have a cigar, you know, have a couple of beers or something like that. He's a cool guy, man," Rodman said.
