Team USA is scheduled to begin their campaign at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Sunday. The 16-time gold medalist will square off against Nikola Jokic-led Serbia at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille. Several members of the star-studded Team USA roster, led by superstars LeBron James and Steph Curry, received a rousing welcome when they stepped out of the bus and made their way to the hotel.

While the crowd went berserk for LeBron and Steph, the scenes were opposite when rising superstar Tyrese Haliburton made his way to the hotel.

In a viral video circulating on social media, fans greeted Haliburton with silence, seemingly unaware of the Indiana Pacers' point guard.

Hoops fans were amused at how Haliburton was received and dropped candid reactions on the viral video.

"They thought he was part of the training staff," a fan commented.
"He's an extra," wrote another X user.

Another X user hilariously switched focus on Haliburton's recent comments about players of all age groups coming after him.

"Lmaooo who got that Halliburton quote, where he said everybody in the league young and old is coming for him."

A couple of fans opined that not all NBA players are renowned worldwide like global superstars LeBron and Steph.

"I don't think the average American NBA fan understands the gap in global popularity between Lebron/Curry and the rest of the NBA," a fan said
"What would you expect Lebron and Curry are iconic legendary Global superstars and Haliburton is a good NBA all star with no world recognition," wrote another.

One of the fans reflected on the similar treatment received by USA's "Dream Team" member John Stockton during the 1992 Olympic Games.

"Same thing happened to John Stockton on the dream team back in the day. People was walking past him and didn’t even know him."

Haliburton likely to get few minutes of playing time in Olympics

Team USA's roster brims with superstars as the country is determined to win its 17th Olympic gold medal. The guard depth in the roster is immense, especially with LeBron James also playing as a point guard during different stages of games as was seen during the five tune up games.

Tyrese Haliburton is likely to fall behind in the pecking order. During the five exhibition games leading up to the Summer Games, Haliburton played a total of 59 minutes and averaged 14.8 minutes per game.

In Team USA's final tune up game against Germany, the point guard didn't take any part in the action as coach Kerr decided to keep him on the bench.
