Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid's 2024-25 season has been affected by injuries. He has featured in only 13 games this season and despite his absence, the 76ers remain committed to Embiid.
Majority owner Josh Harris spoke to The Athletic, where he expressed his support for Embiid. Harris recalled Embiid's early years with the Sixers, where he missed significant time due to injury but eventually became the MVP in 2023.
"We’re still really happy with Joel," Harris said. "He’s a warrior. I’ve seen this. He’s fought through a lot of injuries. You remember when we started, in his first (two) years, he didn’t play at all. And then, in his third year, he played 30-something games."
"And then, he fought through all of that, and became the MVP. So, he’s fighting right now, and we’re fighting. And I’m hopeful and optimistic that we’ll get through," he added.
