NBA analyst Rob Parker ripped into LeBron James after Steph Curry's latest comments on the Warriors' lack of trades. On Monday, after the Warriors fell to 19-20 on the season, Curry said he was aligned with the team's mindset on not mortgaging their future for one final championship push.

The Warriors star indicated that he wants to be in a win-now situation, but only if the organization is in a good place after they surround him with the right talent without spending too much. Parker compared Curry to James in that regard during Thursday's episode of "The Odd Couple" show on Fox Radio.

"He is just selfish," Parker said about James. "Steph [Curry] is not that. LeBron is just selfish and he believes there's some birthright that he has to be on a team that's vying for a championship, no matter if it's good health for the franchise long-term or not."

Parker's rant suggested that LeBron James wants to be on the best teams at all costs, even if it means draining the team's assets and draft picks. He referred to James' Lakers tenure specifically. LA has made multiple big moves since acquiring James, including signing Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook via trades.

The Lakers traded young players like Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and Kyle Kuzma in those deals, along with four first-round picks and one swap. After the Westbrook trade didn't work out, the Lakers traded one more top-four protected first-round pick to the Utah Jazz at the 2023 trade deadline.

Most recently, the Lakers traded for Dorian Finney-Smith and spent three second-round picks. According to NBA trade rumors, the Lakers are willing to trade their remaining three first-round picks in this trade cycle to push for a final championship with LeBron James on the roster.

LeBron James and Steph Curry are in entirely different situations

LeBron James and the LA Lakers are much better suited to contend again. They also have reliable core players like Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves to carry the team forward once James calls time on his career. On the other hand, Steph Curry and the Warriors don't have the same cushion. Their roster is also not as competent as LA's to contend for another title.

The Warriors don't have a secondary star. While Golden State seemingly wants to retain Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski, and Moses Moody, neither player has shown enough consistency to show that they can carry the franchise forward once Curry leaves.

Moreover, the Lakers and Warriors operate differently as organizations in this regard. LA has never shied away from spending big, while the Warriors have preferred internal development.

Even if LeBron James and Steph Curry have different perspectives, their decisions are also influenced by the teams they play for.
