The Washington Wizards might be struggling as a team, but point guard Jordan Poole is having some remarkable individual performances. Poole continues to stretch the floor for the Wizards on a nightly basis and has set a franchise record with his deep shooting.

Poole showcased his shooting early in the Wizards game against the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday. With just a minute off the clock in the first quarter, the Wizards guard launched and made a 3-pointer. With that basket, Poole has tied the franchise record for consecutive games with a 3-point basket.

Additionally, Poole also reached a personal milestone with that shot. He entered the game with 5,997 career points and broke the 6k barrier within the first minute of the game.

Several fans reacted to Poole's milestones by leaving comments on X (formerly Twitter). Some people were not in a celebratory mood and instead left comments to troll Poole and the Wizards.

"He's robbing the Wizards," one person said.
"On 200k shots," another person tweeted.
"Sell the team," one person said.

Meanwhile, some fans took the time to praise Jordan Poole for reaching these career milestones.

"He’s on fire," one fan mentioned.
"Look at that!!" another tweeted.
"Consistency MATTERS!!!" one fan said.

Prior to the game against Charlotte, Poole was averaging 39.2% on 8.0 attempts per game from behind the 3-point line. He has shot 69-176 from downtown, excluding the Wizards-Hornets game, which is still ongoing at the time of writing.

Jordan Poole ties Gilbert Arenas for most consecutive games with a 3-pointer in Wizards franchise history

After sinking a 3-pointer as his first basket against the Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole has sunk a deep shot in 53 consecutive games.

Poole's stretch of games where he's made a three extends back to last season. Specifically, he began this streak against the Boston Celtics on February 9, 2024. In that game, Poole made three out of the 10 3-pointers he attempted. Interestingly, he went a combined 0-for-7 in the two games prior to that.

However, Poole has yet to own this record individually. Former Wizards All-Star Gilbert Arenas also has 53 consecutive games wherein he's made a 3-pointer. Arenas accomplished this feat by making a shot from downtown starting on Feb. 27, 2005. In that game, he went 7-for-11 from downtown against the Sacramento Kings.

His streak extended to next season, Dec. 26, 2005, when he went 2-for-7 against the LA Lakers. Two days later, Arenas missed all six of his 3-point attempts against the Phoenix Suns.

Jordan Poole will have one chance to etch his name in the Wizards' history books on Saturday against the Milwaukee Bucks. Should he make a 3-pointer in that game, he will become the record holder with 54 consecutive games for the Wizards.
