An Instagram user jokingly commented that Ja'Kobe Walter's response was purely planned.

"Saying it so the Raptors don't drop him immediately," the fan posted.

Another Instagram user argued that the rookie's response was not authentic.

"His 'no sirrr' sound fake as hell," the fan posted.

Instagram user officialbigdee hilariously pointed out how Ja'Kobe Walter had to roll with Drake as his choice over Kendrick Lamar due to being drafted by the Toronto Raptors.

"He said 'I got to go with Drake.' Why? Because I'm with Toronto," the fan posted.

Instagram user hamon_188 was not too fond of the kind of answer that Walter had.

"Low IQ take," the fan posted.

Toronto Raptors' GM on selecting Ja'Kobe Walter in the 2024 draft

The Raptors' rebuilding process continues with the front office's goal of developing a promising young roster capable of competing in the coming years.

After the selection of Ja'Kobe Walter, GM Bobby Webster shared the foundation of the pick.

"We're sitting there at 12 or 13 and 'okay is Ja'Kobe still going to be there?'" Webster said. "Some people had Ja'Kobe in the top 10, or some people had him in the lottery. ... I think there's just sort of an inner toughness when you watch him. [He's] not afraid to kind of stick his nose in there."

The rookie guard's numbers are decent at best, given his adequate shooting efficiency from the field. However, the Raptors remain confident in Walter's ability to develop into a cornerstone piece of their franchise.
