Former NBA player Jontay Porter was banned from the league in April for violating the league's rules regarding gambling. It was discovered that Porter disclosed information to bettors and would then limit his participation in games to affect the outcomes of prop bets regarding his play.
While it has been a while since Porter was banned, an investigation has revealed some of the messages he sent to bettors.
This scandal involving Porter stirred a lot of commotion among fans, and the revelation of these texts was no different. Several have reacted to the fact that he sent messages in the middle of games.

"Jontay Porter was really texting through a criminal conspiracy," someone pointed out.
"He was coordinating his live betting NBA props with someone else to make even more, his pregame bets weren’t enough. Embarrassing," another person said.
"Keeping them updated during the games is crazy work, before and after is a different story but during is nasty," another tweeted.
Meanwhile, appear to either be feeling disappointment or confusion at the fact that Porter did something so audacious.
"Crazy thing is that he was actually good man. I wonder why he even did this," one person said.
"This is sad. Sacrificing the integrity of the game," another tweeted.
"His brother making hundreds of millions. He was making millions. I just don't understand how can you be this greedy," someone chimed in.
Jontay Porter played 26 games for the Toronto Raptors during the 2023-24 season, averaging 4.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
According to NBA.com, Porter reportedly informed a sports bettor about his health status ahead of the Raptors' game against the Sacramento Kings on March 20. The bettor reportedly placed an $80,000 bet that he would underperform in that game and the payout would have been worth $1 million.
The Raptors center played just 2:43 seconds and grabbed only two rebounds in that game before checking out, claiming to be feeling ill.
Jontay Porter is also the brother of Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr.

Michael Porter Jr. preached team-first mentality after Jontay Porter got banned from the NBA
Michael Porter Jr. dealt with plenty of family issues at a critical time last season. Aside from his brother Jontay Porter being banned from the NBA, his other brother, Coban, was sentenced to six years in prison for a drunk driving incident. That incident caused the death of a woman and serious injury to another individual.
While all this was happening, Porter was gearing up as the Denver Nuggets were preparing to face the LA Lakers. Furthermore, it wasn't just any game for Porter and the Nuggets, it was the opening round of the 2024 playoffs.
Porter went on to contribute to the Nuggets' 114-103 Game 1 win with 19 points on an 8-for-15 shooting clip as well as eight boards. Following the game, he was asked by the media about his family, specifically his brothers.
"Some bad and sad stuff happening to a couple of my brothers," Porter said. "But I've got 15, 16 more brothers in here, so I know I had to be here for them and come in here and do my job and prepare to do it at a high level."
The Denver Nuggets went on to beat the LA Lakers in five games. Michael Porter Jr. averaged 22.8 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals in the series.
