Bronny James received a warm welcome from the pro-Cleveland crowd that watched the South Bay Lakers take on the Charge.

Fans reacted as LeBron James’ son had a solid outing, finishing with 15 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals. Despite his output, the Lakers lost 125-113.

One tweeted about Bronny's return to Cleveland:

“17 shots for 15 points. Homeboy tryna be the male Angel Reese.”

One fan didn't hold back:

“The only reason Bronny James got drafted into the NBA was because of his whinning a** father.”

Another fan said:

“He’s finally found where he actually belongs, in the G League”

@BRUNSONSTHEGOAT commented:

“WHY DID WE INCLUDE THE SHOOTING SPLITS COME ON YOUR SETTING HIM UP”

@True2Myroots continued:

“Post this when he does it in the NBA. We don’t care right now man”

Bronny James struggled with his efficiency, making 6-for-17 shots, including 3-for-8 from deep. He made up for it with his impact on running the offense and playing well defensively. Bronny repeatedly disrupted the Cleveland offense with his hustle, tenacity and anticipation. Among the starters, he was the only one to finish with a positive +/- net rating (+1).

The LA Lakers admitted at the start of the season that LeBron James’ son is a “project” who could use more seasoning. Lakers coach JJ Redick announced that the rookie would play more in the G League than in the NBA. The No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA draft has been a solid contributor to the South Bay Lakers.

Bronny James has played just once this month in the NBA

Bronny James began December on the injury list. He was ruled out of the LA Lakers’ first three games of the season due to a heel contusion. He received the go-signal to play on Dec. 6 against the Atlanta Hawks but didn't see action.

The former Trojan saw action two nights later against the Portland Trail Blazers. James didn't score a point in three minutes but recorded one block in the Lakers’ 107-98 win against the Blazers.

Bronny James was on the roster in the Lakers’ last four games, but coach JJ Redick kept him out of the rotation. Bronny sat on the bench in his team’s 115-113 win over the Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day. He rejoined South Bay a day later to prepare for the game against the Cleveland Charge on Friday.
