Before preparation for the upcoming NBA season ramps up, Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler spent some time with singer Camila Cabello for a one-on-one interview session for Complex Sports. Butler asked Cabello about her viral vacation pictures with rapper Drake, and the six-time NBA All-Star had an interesting response to her answer.

During the interview, the Heat guard and the "I Luv It" singer were playing a game of basketball horse on the court. After someone misses a shot, that person has to answer a prepared question. When asked about the vacation with Drake, Cabello clarified that it was for a music video for a song on her upcoming album, "C,XOXO."

Interestingly, Jimmy Butler revealed that he was fond of the Canadian rapper and had praise for him. The interview was uploaded on YouTube.

"He's a good dude, too," Butler said. "I f**k with Drake."

Whether NBA fans were expecting that kind of comment from Butler or not, the interview session remained engaging throughout as the two stars shared different sides to them.

Jimmy Butler talked about his album creation process

It is widely known that Jimmy Butler is a big fan of the country music genre. He previously revealed to Rolling Stone's Marlow Stern that he has something special in the making for his own country album.

However, Butler has made it clear that it still needs more time before it can be released to the world.

"I don't want to tell anyone who I've been writing with because then it'll ruin the surprise," Butler said. "Now, I'm in the lab writing and producing country music. We got some real artists and songwriters. We probably got around 45 tracks right now, and I hope to go write some more. There's definitely going to be an album. That's the goal."

He also established that it isn't an outlet or activity that hinders his basketball goals and responsibilities. Usually, NBA stars lean toward the hip-hop/rap genre of music — more so when it comes to players who make music in their spare time. Examples of this are the Phoenix Suns' Kevin Durant, Milwaukee Bucks' Damian Lillard and LA Lakers legend Shaquille O'Neal.

Jimmy Butler is still working on his album, but he remains focused on returning to the court in the upcoming season after missing the Heat's 2023/24 playoff run.

At the same time, it'll be interesting to see when Butler will finally share with listeners what he has been making in the music studio. With how seriously he is taking the creation process, NBA fans will likely be more eager to listen to the project when it drops.
