In the latest episode of "Bully Ball," Rachel Nichols, DeMarcus Cousins and Amin Elhassan talked about Karl-Anthony Towns and his string of lackluster performances. The Minnesota Timberwolves big man has struggled to make an impact, especially on offense, which has led to his team going down 0-3 in the Western Conference finals.
One of the things that people are giving KAT a hard time on is his awful shooting performances. And according to Cousins, his lack of efficiency in shooting the ball is a confidence issue.
"That's the part that people don't realize when it comes to, you know, being a professional athlete or being on this stage," Cousins said. "It's not just about the physical, it's a lot of mental that goes into this. If you're short a little bit on your confidence it can have a huge effect on your game.
"People wonder why these stars in the game are considered arrogant or a**holes. You have to have that type of persona for these type of moments because when these moments hit you, that 'I don't give a f***' attitude, that Russell Westbrook type mentality, that's what gets you over the hump."

Against the Phoenix Suns in the opening round, KAT averaged 19.3 points per game while shooting 53.1% from the field and 52.9% from three.
His efficiency declined against the Denver Nuggets in the conference semifinals but it wasn't a severe drop-off. In six games, he averaged 17.8 points per game while shooting 50.0% from the field and 44.4% from beyond the arc.
However, in the three games that the Wolves played against the Dallas Mavericks, Karl-Anthony Towns only made 27.8% of his shots from the field, which also included a 13.6% shooting clip from beyond the arc.
Inside the NBA crew refuses to believe Karl-Anthony Towns' claim
While speaking with the media following another disappointing loss to the Mavericks, Karl-Anthony Towns acknowledged his abysmal shooting. The Timberwolves big man claimed that he was putting up "1500 shots" per day in practice to help get him into rhythm.
After hearing the number of shots that he takes, Shaquille O'Neal, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson, along with special guest Draymond Green, shared their thoughts.
Green started by pointing out that KAT was lying and saying that nobody shoots that many shots during practice at this stage of the playoffs.
Kenny concurred and stated that, in his experience, making 300 shots in practice took about 45 minutes. Of course, this implies that 1,500 takes a lot longer, leading Kenny to believe KAT was lying.
After Kenny shared his math, Charles Barkley agreed with what his other co-hosts said. He added that perhaps the Timberwolves big man isn't practicing the type of shots he gets in-game.
The bottom line for the Inside the NBA crew was that KAT wasn't being truthful about his habits in practice but as usual, they added a bit of comedy into their takes.
