Like father, like son. Joel Embiid's son mimicked the Philadelphia 76ers big man, who also donned a mask while he played by himself. Embiid's wife, Anne De Paula, posted on her Instagram how their son, Arthur, also wore a mask similar to what his father was wearing during games.
On Wednesday, De Paula, a model, posted on her Instagram stories how their four-year-old son wanted to be just like his dad. However, Arthur's mask is more stylish, as he puts on a Batman mask.
"Arthur said now he has to play with a mask too. I can't with this little guy LOL," De Paula wrote in her Instagram story.

Embiid started wearing a mask during their 108-98 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Dec. 20. The reason behind it is a sinus fracture. In his first game with the mask, he filled the stat sheet with 34 points, five rebounds, nine assists, two steals, and two blocks.
Embiid and De Paula have been together since 2018. They met while having dinner in New York through a mutual friend. In September 2020, the couple had their first child, Arthur. Their son was named after the NBA star's late brother, who died in a car accident in 2014.
When the five-time All-NBA won the MVP award in 2023, Embiid was emotional as he held Arthur.
“Becoming a father changed my whole life, and I just wanted to show him a good example — and I’m glad he’s here with us,” Embiid said during his MVP speech.

Joel Embiid and Anne De Paula are expecting a daughter
Before the new season started, Joel Embiid visited the United Nations General Assembly in September. During his guest appearance at the Semafor's The Next 3 Billion conference, the host, Max Tani, asked how Embiid and other African leaders could help elevate the future generation.
As he answered, the Sixers star spoke highly of Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri. He also dropped a piece of personal news about having a daughter on the way.
“Since I've become a parent — I have a four-year-old son and I have a daughter on the way — you put so much more emphasis on what I have to do as a role model and as a leader,” Embiid said.
Since then, neither Embiid nor De Paula have given updates on when their daughter will arrive.
