Rob Dillingham met with a lot of NBA teams during the draft process but has only spoken to just one head coach. Dillingham had a conversation with Gregg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs, whom he described as "crazy" and "soft-spoken" at the same time.

In an interview with Mike Finger of San Antonio Express-News, Dillingham shared that he only talked to Coach Pop during his draft process. He loved everything about the five-time NBA champion head coach.

"From afar, coach looks crazy. But I love coach. He's more like a soft-spoken dude," Dillingham said.

The San Antonio Spurs recently worked out Rob Dillingham and possibly looked if he'll fit well with last year's No. 1 pick, Victor Wembanyama. The Spurs have the fourth overall pick in this year's draft and they are predicted to pick a guard. Most mock drafts have them selecting big guard Stephon Castle.

Castle is a 6-foot-7 player who can play both guard positions. NBC Sports pointed out that the Spurs wanted a tall playmaker, especially with the Point Jeremy Sochan experiment early last season. Tre Jones is on the smaller side of point guards, so they could for a player like Castle, who has "good size and physicality."

The USC product might not be the best shooter out there, but he can still create his own shot due to his size. He also has good defensive potential and won't force any shots.

In addition to the No. 4 pick, the Spurs also own the eighth overall pick. USA Today and ESPN predicted that San Antonio would pick Rob Dillingham at this spot. Other mock drafts have them selecting Cody Williams, Tidjane Salaun and Devin Carter.

Will Rob Dillingham end up with the San Antonio Spurs?

The San Antonio Spurs could pick Rob Dillingham at No. 8 in the 2024 NBA Draft. He worked out for them this week and had nothing but great things to say about Gregg Popovich and the entire Spurs organization.

In an interview with Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-News, Dillingham was asked about possibly teaming up with Victor Wembanyama and what he could contribute to the Spurs as a player.

"That was the craziest first year in a long time. He could be one of the best players ever. If I'm playing with Wemby, it's obvious. I am coming in to give Wemby the ball," Dillingham said.

Rob Dillingham is a walking bucket and an undersized shooting guard. Dillingham has been compared to players such as Lou Williams, Coby White and Kemba Walker. They are all scoring guards, who had plenty of success in the NBA.

Walker should be the ceiling since he was a multi-time All-Star, while Williams is a three-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year. White is coming off his breakout campaign and will likely carry over next season.
